Personal Instruction, Guiding, and Mentoring

Customize your own adventure with your friends and other like-minded photographers at a time that is convenient for you by contacting David right now.

Roger Daines

Roger has many areas of interest in California that he knows intimately. Explore the Mono Lake area, Death Valley, or other scenic areas for a personalized safari or days of instruction and fun at the locations of your choice.

Contact Roger directly to set your dates and decide on the focus of your outing. As a commercial and landscape photographer, you may also want to have him show you some techniques he has practiced through his years as a photographer. Read Roger's biography here.

Carmen Hunter

Carmen can give you a personal tour of Canyon de Chelly and the surrounding area when you schedule your dates in advance so she can accommodate you. She can also get you to areas around Chinle at the right time of day for you to create spectacular landscape images.

The canyon is now open with access to high clearance 4-wheel and 6-wheel drive vehicles. You can drive your own vehicle and Carmen will guide you along the right parts of the wash. It's fun when the water is running. You can splash along then get out and get photos with great reflections.

If you wish to work with people you will need to schedule during one of our workshops to gain the maximum benefit from your time in these areas. All of the people we photograph lead busy lives and graciously share their time with us. Read Carmen's biography here.

David Davis

David is the instigator of these adventures. His mastery is in natural light and people. His love of wilderness landscapes, abstract commercial challenges, and passion for drawing out the spirit of each individual he photographs make him an interesting mentor for your safari.

Personal instruction is available in any of these photographic disciplines, and he will arrange to travel with you to or take you to most any location in the Southwest. Outfitted pack trips are also available to many of the wilderness areas in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.

If you have wondered what it's like to be with a master photographer working on personal project, you'll want to go along with David as he works through his long and ongoing list of subjects. In 2008 he started having people accompany him to experience the intimate nature of the creative process. In 2010 there will be even more opportunities to create in truly unique situations.

If you can keep up with David, you will want to be part of his personal projects. While most photographers keep their ideas to themselves, he shares the creative process with like-minded people. A few of the ongoing projects range from the "Rock Artist's" series, to "Warrior Women", and "Cliff Dwellers" illustrations. If you've ever wondered, "How did they make that picture?" or "I wish I would have been there to see what was happening when the shutter clicked", this is your opportunity. Call for your interview today.

David and Carmen also offer custom personalized tours for non-photographers who want to experience the areas, the people, the culture, and the history without the ambitious sunrise to sunset photography schedule.

Call the main office and see how you can put a tour together for yourself or your group that will fit both your schedule and your budget.
